Manitowish Waters Scarecrow Contest Rules
Get creative and celebrate the fall season! Anyone is welcome to participate in the Manitowish Waters Scarecrow Contest.
Who Can Participate
- Individuals, families, businesses, organizations, clubs, and community groups are all welcome to participate.
- You do not need to have a business location to enter.
Scarecrow Display Locations
Participants may choose one of two display options:
Business Location
- Businesses may display their scarecrow outside or near their business location.
- Scarecrows should be easily visible to the public.
Community Center Grounds
- Participants without a business location, or anyone who prefers, may display their scarecrow at the Manitowish Waters Community Center Grounds.
- A designated area will be provided for scarecrow displays.
- Space at the Community Center Grounds may be limited and will be assigned by the Manitowish Waters Visitors Bureau.
Display Requirements
- Keep scarecrows community friendly, no profanity, politics, or inappropriate themes.
- Be creative! Scarecrows can be traditional, whimsical, humorous, spooky, or completely unique.
- Displays must be securely constructed and able to withstand typical fall weather.
- Scarecrows may not block sidewalks, entrances, driveways, or roadways.
- Scarecrows can be decorated to reflect your family, business, or organization. You can also select a specific theme of your choice.
Three winners will be selected by a People’s Choice Vote through an online form.
