Summer may be coming to an end but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! Here are 5 things to add to your to-do list when visiting Manitowish Waters in August.
1. Cranberry Tours
Starting August 23rd, cranberry tours at the Cranberry Square Farm Market begin. Every Friday, through early October, cranberry tours will begin on the front porch at 10am. Learn about the cranberry marshes with a local grower from Vilas Cranberry Company!
2. Area Dining
Grab a bite to eat at your favorite area restaurant. Manitowish Waters offers a variety of dining experiences, from a classic Friday night fish fry to fine dining, there is something for everyone to love! Start your morning off with a coffee and breakfast sandwich at Dixies Coffee House and enjoy the scenic views of Vance Lake. Enjoy a dinner at Little Bohemia Lodge and absorb the history surrounding you from the Dillinger shoot out. At The Lakehouse, shop a variety of home decor, books, and more! Lakeside Living offers a variety of services from upholstery to interior design. Shop their showroom or meet with one of their experienced designers to create a space that is uniquely you! Iron Horse Antiques & Art offers a variety of unique antiques and art. Shop their collection located at their store on Highway W in Manitowish Waters. To the north in Mercer, WI, the Wampum Shop has souvenirs, clothing, books, decor and toys! Stop by their store with the whole family, as they have something for everyone. Also in Mercer is Northwoods Accents, your one stop shop for furniture or household decor, from mattresses to living room and dining furniture.
4. Music in the Park

5. Bike the Heart
Explore the Northwoods on the Heart of Vilas County Bike Trail. Connecting Manitowish
