Gather, Create, and Celebrate Art
The beauty of the Northwoods inspires so many of us, it's no wonder there are so many talented artists who call Manitowish Waters home. Express your creativity with the numerous art opportunities, classes, shows and activities available.
The Manito Art League is dedicated to promoting art education in the Northwoods. The Art League offers many opportunities for its members and the public. Meetings are held beginning the second Wednesday of May and then the first Wednesday of each month through October. The meetings feature a workshop and a “Great Art in Our Great Northwoods” presentation by local artists sharing information about their work. The Art League offers monthly workshops to its members and the public. Workshop topics vary from screen printing, using alcohol inks, making paper, acrylic painting, basketry and much more.
The Annual Art Show is held at the Manitowish Waters Community Center. The Annual Art show is open to the public and is held in the middle of July. It features the new work of more than 200 artists. Members and the public are invited to enter the show. For more information contact the entry chair listed on the Manito Art League website.
