Waterfall Photography Workshop and Field Trip
Saturday, June 10 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm
Join outdoor and wildlife photographers Bob Haase and Tom Mortenson for this new workshop that is open to anyone with basic knowledge of photography. The morning will be spent in the classroom reviewing the following topics: cameras, lenses, and related equipment such as tripods, filters, etc., suggested camera settings, post-production methods to enhance the image, sources to find and evaluate waterfall locations, waterfall photography safety, clothing, shoes and boots and other suppliles such as insect repellant, sunscreen, etc. A powerpoint will show examples of different waterfalls, methods of shooting from different viewpoints, and conditions.
Following lunch (bring your own), we will head over to Kakabika Falls and Bond Falls in the UP of Michigan. Students can travel on their own, but it is preferred to carpool in the Discovery Center van.
Bob and Tom have years of experience working professionally and for their own enjoyment, and are looking forward to sharing their knowledge of waterfall photography. Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm (Sunday, June 11th is the back-up date if the weather doesn’t cooperate on June 10th). Registration is required by 6/8. $50/Non-Member and $40/Member.
