Moonshine in the Northwoods

Join us at 1 p.m. on May 31^st at the MAC and discover how moonshine operations changed and impacted several Northwoods’ communities. During Prohibition, visitors and residents sought sanctuary from Volstead Act enforcement in remote northern towns and villages. Under the cover of forests, streams and lakes, even Al Capone sampled the products of area moonshiners while enjoying “gangster holidays” in Winchester.
