Manitowish Waters Historical Society Pub Crawl Hike

Thursday, June 29 @ 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Learn about Manitowish Waters (MW) history and visit some of our social establishments as we hike at a leisurely pace on area trails. Using tour guide headsets, participants can easily hear and learn from Manitowish Waters Historical Society (MWHS) guides. Trail discussions will include geology, prehistoric, Ojibwa culture, logging, early resorts, guides, Rest Lake Ranger station and more. We will stop into several local establishments for refreshments and amazing stories about our town’s past. The route is 4.5 miles and mostly along existing trails.

We will start at Koller Park and follow bike and hiking trails along the Manitowish River to Ye Olde Shillelagh.  A ride back to parked cars will be offered at Shillelagh or folks can continue back to downtown MW on foot. Registered participants may choose to only complete the downtown portion of the trip or the entire hike.

Space is limited, so please register early; $20/Non-Member and $15/Member (NLDC or MWHS).  Register online at the North Lakeland Discovery Center (www.discoverycenter.net) or contact the NLDC at 715-543-2085.
