Fisher Lake to Shay’s Dam Paddle

Join Northwoods Learning Adventures guide Zach Wilson as he explores Fisher Lake and the Turtle River.   Tucked away in the Northeast Corner of Iron County, Fisher Lake is a 441-acre lake and one of the headwater lakes of the Turtle River.  With its hidden bays, islands, and sandy shorelines this adventure has a lot to see. After paddling across the lake the trip will enter the turtle river which flows through Northern Hardwood forest and old-growth cedars.  A bonus osprey nest on a low-laying power pole gives paddlers great views of this unique fish hawk.

Canoes, paddles, PFDs provided.  Registered participants will be contacted via email prior to the trip with more info but should plan on riding in our van to make a shuttle possible.   Friday, 12 – 4 PM.  Registration required by 7/12.  $40/Non-Member and $35/Member.
