Discover Historic Traditions and Mysteries of Island and Spider Lakes by Water

2:30 – 5:00pm

Join Manitowish Waters Historical Society (MWHS) member Jim Bokern on a two-hour pontoon tour of Spider and Island Lakes, which will depart from the Blue Bayou Inn.  Discover the Native American cultural networks, logging camps, railroad landing, Ojibwa sugar bush, ricing areas, mysteries, unique residents, homesteads, early resorts and businesses.  While traveling along the shores of Island and Spider Lakes, participants will view many unique historic sites that will be supplemented with historic images and documents.  Registered participants should meet at the Blue Bayou Inn.

Registered participants will receive an email prior to the program with details and the location to meet the pontoon.  Registration is required by 7/12. $60/Non-Member and $55/Members of the NLDC or MWHS.  

If the pontoon tour is cancelled due to weather, the rain date will be Saturday, July 15th.
