The MECCA trails have 21 km groomed for classical and skate skiing that wind through stately pines, black spruce, tamarack wetlands and hardwood forests in Mercer. These trails are suitable for beginning through advanced skiers with beautiful vistas around the Little Turtle River and Flowage. Over 3 miles of snowshoe trails can be accessed from the Fierick Road trailhead where you will also find a heated log chalet and vault toilets. The trails are on properties owned by the Wisconsin DNR, Iron County Forest, Town of Mercer and private land and maintained entirely by MECCA Ski Club, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are appreciated. More information and trail conditions can be found at: meccatrails.com.
