Among other water bodies in Manitowish Waters, the 10-lake chain provides 4,265 acres of water to explore in many capacities -- excellent year 'round fishing being one of the most popular.  Cast your line for the elusive musky, northern pike, walleye, largemouth & smallmouth bass, perch, crappie and bluegill.  Nearby waters also provide trout fishing action.  Vilas County is home to over 1,300 lakes and 73 rivers and streams, ranking as one of the highest lake concentrations in the world! 

• A walk-on fishing pier is located on Rest Lake at Koller Park (Hwy. W in 'downtown' Manitowish Waters).

• Public boat landings on the Manitowish Waters chain include:  Clear Lake, Rest Lake, Wild Rice Lake and Island Lake.  There is a fee-based launch at Greer's Pier Marina on Spider Lake.

• Get in on some ice fishing action and family-fun at the Sno-Skeeters Snowmobile Club's Winterfest Rendezvous, featuring an all-day ice fishing contest among lots of other activities: Feb. 19, 2011 on Rest Lake at Rest Lake Park.

• Join us for the 35th Annual World Championship Musky Classic, Sept. 9-11, 2011 -- fishing designated waters in Manitowish Waters, Boulder Junction, Winchester and Presque Isle.  The Manitowish Waters Chamber will host this year's awards luncheon & raffle drawings at the M.W. Community Building, Sept. 11.
