Nibbles N’ Knowledge: Secret Love Lives of Animals Part 4 @ Camp Jorn YMCA

The past three years’ ‘love life’ program was so popular we’ve decided to do a part 4!  With fun new information, join Discovery Center program staff for this interactive, Jeopardy-like, hilarious and educational presentation on the mating rituals of critters of the Northwoods and beyond!

An evening of delicious nibbles and expanding your knowledge. Cash bar and complimentary appetizers from 5-6pm, program from 6-7pm.

Pre-registration required by 2/13

Every Friday night they are hosting FREE Open Skate UNDER THE LIGHTS from 5pm-8pm.

Bring your own skates or we have some skates that may work for you too.

Winterfest Rendezvous @ Rest Lake Park
Feb 17 @ 9:30 am – 6:30 pm

The area’s biggest ice fishing contest with prizes awarded in 8 categories, sponsored by the Manitowish Waters Sno-Skeeters Snowmobile Club.

Ice fishing contest runs from 10:30am until 5:30pm, with more chances to win raffle prizes if you pre-register at Townline Sports or Lakeland True Value.
Tent opens at 9:30am for registration. Opening ceremony begins at 10am. Ice fishing awards at 6pm.

This family event has activities for all: kid’s games, free groomer rides, racing and photos with the “Famous Klements Racing Sausages” and live music.

Food and refreshments are served in a 40’ x 40’ heated tent and raffle items including: ice auger, ice shack, generator, snowmobile and many more items.

Stay for the event’s finale – spectacular fireworks over frozen Rest Lake.

Dress accordingly, this event is held on Rest Lake just off of Rest Lake Park’s boat landing on Hwy W, 1/4 mile north of Manitowish Waters.
Parking is available in the Rest Lake Parking Lot.








FREE Open Skate @ North Lakeland Elementary School

Every Saturday  the North Lakeland Bucks Hockey will be hosting FREE Open Skate!

The North Lakeland Hockey Hut will be open from 10am to 5pm on Saturday’s throughout the season.

Bring your own skates or we have some skates that may work for you too.

Join Joe Panci, Ottawa National Forest Conservation Education Coordinator, to learn how to ID a tree in the winter months using its bark, twig, and growth pattern. Wisconsin Ice Fishing Basics @ North Lakeland Discovery Center
Feb 17 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Come to the beautiful Discovery Center grounds to learn the basics of icefishing in the Wisconsin!
Tackle is provided, or you’re welcome to bring your own.

John Heusinkveld and Ryan Wahlgren will teach basic tackle set up and techniques such as jigging, shelters, tip ups, lure selection and more.
We will then head out onto our own Statehouse Lake to try for panfish and Northern Pike.

Dress as warmly as possible, especially winter boots, windproof outer garments and warm gloves or mittens.

Participants must possess a valid WI DNR fishing license to attend.

Space is limited.
Advance registration is required by 02/15/2018.
