Memory Café Events – “Music – Name That Tune” @ Frank B. Koller Memorial Library
Feb 1 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

The Frank B. Koller Memorial Library will begin a series of Memory Café events.   These Café programs are intended to help stimulate the memory while providing enjoyable experiences for all ages. This is a nationwide movement provided in a safe, comfortable, engaging environment where people can gather to laugh, learn, and remain socially engaged with others. It is a wonderful opportunity for people who are experiencing mild memory loss, cognitive impairment, or just want to keep memory skills active, have fun and share experiences with friends and neighbors.

The first scheduled event will be “Music – Name that Tune” on Wednesday, February 1st, 10am – 11am.   Various songs will be played to stimulate memory and initiate friendly competition as to who announces titles first.   There will also be discussion about your favorite songs.    Fun little prizes will be awarded, healthy treats and drinks will be served.  No sign-up necessary and this is a FREE program.  Extra parking is available next door at our Community Building.  Note: volunteers are needed to help facilitate the monthly programs. New ideas and suggestions are welcome.

Camp Jorn YMCA Chamber After 5 @ Camp Jorn YMCA
Feb 2 @ 5:00 pm

MANITOWISH WATERS CHAMBER AFTER 5 MEET & GREET THE NEW DIRECTOR
Thursday, February 2 – 5PM

HOSTED BY CAMP JORN YMCA

The Manitowish Waters Chamber invites you to our Chamber After 5 at Camp Jorn. We are so excited for you to meet Camp’s new Executive Director – Carrie Wilson.

Carrie just joined Camp this January and they are thrilled to have her. She’s spent at least some of every summer working at camp for the past 30 plus years.
Carrie started out her camping career as a volunteer at YMCA Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya and has never looked back. After graduating from Northland College with a Biology degree, Carrie got her first camp director job at a small Girl Scout camp in Northern MN. Carrie spent 20 years with Girl Scouts, after which time she moved on to Camp Helen Brachman, serving central city low income youth and families from Milwaukee before moving to Camp Jorn. When not working, Carrie enjoys her three dogs, anything outdoors including canoeing, biking, fishing and hunting and spending her husband and three boys!

Camp Jorn is excited to host this event to introduce you to Camp and the new director. Camp is situated on a 70+ acre peninsula of mature pine forest in Wisconsin’s Northern Highland State Forest – located on the shores of Rest Lake, part of the Manitowish Waters Chain of 10 lakes.

Complimentary appetizers and a cash bar will be available starting at 5pm.

Be sure to get your raffle ticket to win some great prizes.
Proceeds from this Chamber After 5 raffle sales will go to CAMP JORN YMCA PROGRAMMING.

This event is open to the public and we look forward to seeing you there!

****Camp Jorn is located off of Hwy K on Red Feather Road in Manitowish Waters.
